Our Little Monkey

Hi! Happy Wednesday...well almost Thursday! Things at the Delacoma household are crazy busy! Never a dull moment! :) We are finally feeling somewhat settled in our house. There are still a million things that we want to do to make it our "own" but it's just going to take some time. We had finally gotten our old house pretty close to the way we wanted it and then we moved! Isn't that how it usually works? :) But things are falling into place and we are loving it. Our neighbors have been the best! So many of them have gone way out of their way to make us feel welcomed into the neighborhood. There is a little girl named Paige that lives about 3 doors down. She is sweet as can be and she just turned 4 too! Her and Adrienne met outside and played and played one day! Then she had a big birthday party on Saturday, equipped with one of those giant blow-up slide bounce house things. It started at 2 and I promise you those kids did not stop playing on that until 10 at night! They play so well together and we're so happy about her new friend. We met another neighbor one day who is a Pharmacist. He told me to call him ANY time I needed anything...whether it be in the middle of night and I'm worried about a sick kid or whatever! Most of the people on our "block" are not from Texas. We are all from different parts of the country so a lot of them don't have family close by either. They all said that this block has been their "home away from home" They have parties and celebrations for every holiday so they told us that if we ever can't make it home and want to join in, we're welcome! So, I could go on and on but you get the point! It's been so awesome...especially compared to our old street!

So Madilynn is SUCH a little monkey! The girl is climbing on everything and getting into everything!! She is everywhere! She has already climbed up the entire flight up stairs (with me behind her of course). We have a gate at the top of the stairs but not at the bottom so guess where she goes as soon as I put her down downstairs? The stairs! Yesterday, we were up in the media room and she found a small empty box, pushed it across the room and stopped in front of the couch. She proceeded to climb on top of the box and then on top of the couch! That same day, I walked in and she was climbing up Ade's book case! Ade was definitely busy and a fast crawler but she was never this much of a little monkey! But she is doing great. Happy as can be ALL the time! She just wants to be with her big sister all the time and big sissy is USUALLY good about it...but sometimes she kinda messes with her stuff and it makes her mad. I've seen a glimpse into the future a few times here lately! She eats pretty much anything we give her. The only thing she really doesn't care for is green beans. She even puts down some prunes! And boy does she LOVE her bottle. She can spot that thing from across the room and she just locks her eyes on it! It's just so different than Ade because Ade loved to nurse so much and hated the bottle. And Madi loves the bottle and BITES me! lol She's a character! Love her more and more everyday!

Adrienne is doing great too! She started school a couple of weeks ago and she does great in school. The teachers can't say enough good things about her. Apparently she listens very well while she's there and does everything the teacher asks...If only she did that at home all the time too :) She is pretty fired up when I pick her up from school and usually runs around the house for a few hours like a wild woman and then crashes at 8 because she hasn't had a nap. She is one smart cookie that girl! She is definitely going to give us a run for our money! I love having 2 girls and can't imagine it any other way! I tell Nick that all the time!

I want to ask all of you for a few prayers for some recent happenings. #1. For my Grandma...she had a stroke and is currently in rehab. She is doing ok but is having trouble with her left side. She is also frustrated with it all. #2 For the Evernham family. They lost a wonderful woman named Robin. Scott and Robin had 2 small daughters. #3 For my friend Carrie. Her dad passed away of lung cancer from the pesticides from farming all his life. May our prayers be with them.

Well that's all for now. I'm pretty tired and am going to get ready for bed :) Good night!

At the park! Looking at me like "What is this thing??"

Trying to teach Ade how to swing by herself!

Another day at the park...I'd rather just sit in my stroller and watch sissy swing :)

A HUGE ice cream cone!

And here she goes!

Home Sweet Home

First Family Pic in our new home! :)
Hi all! Sorry for the delay in updating!! We've been a little busy ;) Sooo, we are alllll moved in!!! Thank God for good friends and family for making it as stress-free as possible!! Sandy and Bill drove ALL the way down here (leaving 80 degree weather to come help us move in 100 degree heat may I add!) They were SUCH a huge help! Our nanny Jennifer helped a ton with the kids and Clint and Natalie were life-savers as well!!! Then my Mom and Chuck came down over Labor Day weekend and helped us hang everything on the walls and do some handy work around the house! Thank you SO much for all of your help guys! Love you long time! :) But, we are getting all settled in! And we LOVE our new house...so much!! We are all so happy and blessed to be in such a wonderful home! The girls have so much space to play upstairs too which is awesome!! And our neighbors are the BEST! So many of them have gone way out of there way to welcome us to the neighborhood. We've been invited to several block parties and have a birthday party for a little girl turning 4 this Saturday that lives 2 doors down. Her name is Paige and her and Ade had a blast yesterday playing! We are just so so happy :)

And, during the chaos of getting settled into a new home, would you believe that I actually turned 30!!!??? I still can't believe it. We had several celebrations for the big bday!! The girls went out for a fun lunch and pedis, we went out with Bill and Sandy to one of our favorite Mexi joints, Nick took his girls out to a nice steak dinner and then we went out again with friends on Saturday night while my Mom and Chuck kept the girls! Had SO much fun!!

Birthday lunch with the girls! :)
