Annnndddd....We have a walker!!

Hi all!! So, is this time of year as crazy for you as it is for us! I'm guessing the answer is YES! And to add to the craziness of the season...our baby girl is turning ONE 2 days after Christmas! She has been practicing a lot on her walking skills and is now pretty much walking everywhere to get around!!! It's crazy! I was doing the dishes the other day and she was playing with the tupperware in the cabinets on the floor.  Then, she just stood up and walked right behind me to the other side of the room. I just looked behind me and watched her walk across the room in amazement...she looks so cute totting around!!! But with new walking comes lots of stumbles!!! She's pretty tough though -- she usually just bounces right back up! We're really looking forward to celebrating her first big birthday at my Mom's house over the holidays! I will bet money that Madilynn will dig right into her cake with no reservations!! Ade would not even touch her cake when she turned one! No surprise here! Our girls couldn't be more opposite! But it keeps things interesting around here :)

Adrienne had her school Christmas program last week. Let me tell you....I was DYING laughing with tears in my eyes! Her class sang "Up on the Rooftop" and boy did she belt out those words!! She was singing SO loud and was about a second too late for the first verse! LOL Her teacher turned around and looked at me and we both started cracking up! This is the same girl that cried to me 2 weeks ago when they started practicing because she said she didn't want to be on stage....so quite the turn-around here! It was soooo funny and cute!!!

 Well - just wanted to give you a quick update and upload a few new pictures! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and I'll update again after the holidays with Christmas and bday pics!!

Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving...Merry Christmas??

Seriously, where does the time go? Since I've last updated, SO much has happened! Let's start with Halloween! Adrienne was saying for weeks that she wanted to be either a cowgirl or a cheerleader so that's what we were planning on...until we went shopping for a costume. The first store we hit was Target and as soon as she saw it, she knew what she wanted to be...she was going to be Supergirl for Halloween! It struck me as a little random seeing as I've never even heard her really talk about Supergirl in my life. You know how obsessed she is with horses so I thought as soon as she saw that ridiculous 4-legged horse costume, that would be the end of it. But sure enough...she couldn't take her eyes off that Supergirl costume! So that's what we got. And do you know what Supergirl needed to complete her costume? A Supergirl sidekick...and that would be Superbaby! So, yes, we gave into Supergirl's request and ordered her baby sister a Superbaby costume. I'll have to say....it turned out to be pretty darn cute! The Gaudin's and the Foutch's came over to Trick-or-Treat with us in our new neighborhood and we had a ball! Superbaby and Tinkerbell (aka Molly) had a blast in the wagon! All in all, we had a great time!! And actually, the adults got to dress up one night too. The Gaudin's had a Halloween party at their house and Nick and I went as Maverick and Charlie :) Too much fun!

A few weeks later, a few of our friends came in town for a visit (the Briscoe's and the French's). We went to the Cowboys game and when we got home, Nick and I were just hanging out with the girls in the playroom. Well, would you believe that Madilynn took about 5 steps to me!!? We were all so excited!! So, at 10 months old, our baby girl took her first steps...She does a little of both, still mostly crawling but she has been walking so much this weekend! Yesterday we were watching her and she just stood up, looked at us and just started walking all by herself right to us! Took about 6 or 7 steps! It's funny how excited we all get! Even Ade gets the biggest kick out of it!! Madilynn has 8 teeth now...and I'm pretty sure she's working on those fun 1-year molars. Man, those are such a joy! :)

On November 16, Nick and I took off to Mexico!!! Our friends Carrie and Patrick got married down in Riviera Maya. It was my first time spending the night away from Madi and the longest I've ever been away from Ade so I was a little nervous before we left, especially considering Ade had a fever the day we left. Never easy to leave a sick baby! But, I knew the girls were in good hands with Nana and Paw Paw! Just heard from Paw Paw today though...and unfortunately he caught the cold :( Sorry Paw Paw. And thanks for taking good care of our babies. But, anyway, we had a GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!! But, what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico...right? Yea...that's the it goes I think :)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Although we didn't travel home for the holiday or have anyone come here (first time since we've lived here), it has been an awesome weekend. It's been really nice just hanging out, just the four of us, this weekend. It's not often that we have 4 days in a row to do that together. We spent the majority of today getting in the Christmas spirit!!! We have lights hung on our house (they look amazing!!), the Christmas tree is up, stockings hung and we even got to put garland and lights up the staircase. Ya know, I've always wanted to do that....decorate a banister for Christmas...and this year I got to. Well, Nick did it, but under my supervision...hehe :)

It's hard to believe that Madi will be 11 months old tomorrow. That just does NOT seem right!!! I remember like it was yesterday heading to the hospital and Nick saying, oh before you know it, she'll be a year old. And here we are...went even faster than Ade's first year! And with it being right in the middle of Christmas season, it's going to be here in the blink of an eye! I better start planning for that baby girl's first birthday party! I can't wait to see her smash into some cake! That girls eats ANYTHING you put in front of her!!! Definitely not like her big sissy in that aspect...Miss Picky won't hardly eat anything!

So, there's a super fast update! We are doing great as you can see! Time is flying faster than I feel like I can keep up sometimes...There are so many things that I want to do and just don't feel like I have the time. But as the saying goes...time flies when you're having fun!

New Happenings!

Hi all!!! Well, it's been about a month since my last post...and I have to be honest when I say it's really hard to keep up with a blog/website or whatever these days! Between the new house, work, the kiddos, visitors, friends, etc., I have a hard time keeping up with certain things! But, here I am...and I will do my best to update on what's all been going on :)

Well, first off, Madilynn is ALL OVER THE PLACE! That girl is a busy bee! She is now standing up on her own (not holding on to anything!) She just stands up in the middle of the room (and the bathtub! Ah!) so I would bet that it won't be long before that girl starts walking! She's a strong little cookie and of course happy as ever!! She had her first ear infection a couple of weeks ago and we didn't even know it. She caught a little cold from her big sissy and I took her in to the doc for her 9 month check (YES! 9 months!) and the doctor said, "She has a pretty bad ear infection." She honestly wasn't even really fussy with it! So, she was 21.7 lbs and 29.5 inches long!! She is a growing baby girl!! She honestly brings so much joy to our lives...one of my favorite moments of the day is when I go in her room first thing in the morning...she is just so happy and gives me the biggest snuggles and KISSES too! She is all about giving kisses these day - very wet ones :) OH! She has 7 teeth now!! Yes, all 4 front teeth came in a the same time the same week she had a cold an ear infection! We also got some 9 month pics taken...see below :)

Big sissy Adrienne got her ears pierced!!! We told her that when she turned 4, she could get her ears pierced but she's always been too scared to do it! We told her that was totally fine...and she could do it whenever she felt like she was ready! Well, Madi and I took her to get her hair cut one Friday afternoon and a little girl was getting her ears pierced and she said she wanted to! Luckily, this little girl didn't cry or anything and Ade wasn't scared. And luckily, they pierced both ears at the same time or else Ade would be walking around with 1 ear pierced because she did NOT like it! LOL I think it startled her more than anything but after about 3 minutes, she looked in the mirror and fell in love with her "pink princess diamonds" hehe :) Ade has been doing very well in school. She is writing her name all by herself now (we don't have to show her any of the letters anymore) and the teachers said she's a very quick learner. They said she will be more than ready to go to KINDERGARTEN next year! Crazy! Ade is the most animated little girl I have EVER met...everything is magnified X100! It's soooo funny when she's in a good mood and soooo not funny when she throws magnified fits :) The girl keeps us on our toes! :)

We've been slowly but surely doing some work in our house. We painted the playroom and put in a new storage unit with a TV over it. It looks super cool. It's even cooler that I found this piece of furniture for $40 and then had it refinished for 1/6 of the price it would have cost to buy what I wanted at Pottery Barn! So I was proud of myself :)

Work is BUSY AS EVER!!! Nick and I are both SO busy! He is working longer hours and is having to travel a bit more and I am busier than ever and juggling the kiddos and work! I'm just lucky that I can work from home and have a sitter to help me as opposed to commuting to work everyday...I would NOT like to sit in the traffic that Nick does everyday :( So, finding the balance between kids, work, family, friends, cleaning, etc. is always a challenge and things are constantly changing presenting new challenges but I think that's pretty common in today's world and I feel fortunate that I get to spend as much time with my darling daughters as I do :) Very lucky! (Although I do wish to hit the lottery at least once a week :)

Well - I better get! The girls and I are coming to town the weekend of the Oct 20th to meet BABY MINNIE KATE GROVES!! One of my bffs Molly had her first little baby girl and we CAN'T wait to meet her! Excited to see the fam and some good friends!!

I haven't been very good at taking pics with my good camera but I have a million of them on my phone! :)
